BackUpWordPress: Quick Review
BackUpWordPress is a simple backup plugin for WordPress that allows you to save your complete installation (including the database) on a schedule that suits you. The free plugin also has a premium version that lets you send backups to remote destinations.

A Developer’s Perspective
As a WordPress developer, the BackUpWordPress plugin is one of my all-time favorite backup plugins for WordPress. It lets you schedule a complete, automated backups of your entire site and database. One of the features that I like best is that it’ll send you email notifications whenever your scheduled backup is done. I was able to configure multiple backup schedules so that my client’s core files were backed up once weekly and their database was backed up once daily.
It also gives me the option to decide what I’d like to backup – both database and files, files only, or database only. In my opinion, BackUpWordPress is a must-have because it’s easy to set up, it does what it’s supposed to, and I don’t have to worry about taking manual backups of each and every client’s site.
Pros
- Easy to configure.
- Lets you schedule how often backups should be taken.
- Manage multiple backup schedules.
Cons
- You’ll have to restore the backups manually.
An Average User’s Perspective
The BackUpWordPress plugin is incredibly easy to setup and doesn’t have a lot of confusing options. I like how you can configure it once and then not worry about backing up your site again.
Since my website is hosted on a shared server, I like how the plugin lets you choose which files you’d like to backup, how often you want the automated backups to run, and how many backups to store on your server.
Pros
- A complete backup solution for your WordPress site.
- Lets you automate backups.
Cons
- You have to restore backups manually.
To Sum It Up
If you’re a WordPress developer looking for a free backup plugin, BackUpWordPress has got you covered. It’ll let you automate your site’s backups so you don’t have to worry about taking manual backups ever again.
And if you’re an average user, you should definitely install the BackUpWordPress plugin on your site. It’s intuitive and you can have it send you your site’s backup via email.
