A Developer’s Perspective
Personally, I haven’t been able to find a free forms plugin that’s better than Caldera Forms. I like everything about it from its interface to its built-in form processors. The feature that really made this plugin stand out for me was its conditional logic functionality. It’s super easy to use – anyone could do it! While other form plugins only offer conditional logic in their premium versions, Caldera Forms includes it in its free plugin.
What’s more is that you can configure the form’s settings to enable all kinds of neat options like Ajax submissions, hide form after submission, and scroll to top on submit. Finally, it also lets you import forms from your local drive. If you develop and manage a few different websites like I do, you’ll be able to re-use your forms simply by importing them.

An Average User’s Perspective
As an average user, Caldera Forms has all the right features in place for my form building needs. The plugin’s interface might seem a bit outdated at first but once you’ve experimented a bit with the pre-designed forms, you’ll be creating your own custom ones in no time.
Connecting the form to my email was super easy and I really liked how Caldera Forms gives you a bunch of helpful tips when you’re configuring its email notification settings. This is probably the only form builder I’ve used where I got it right the first time!
